Now and Then

The devil clinging to my back has loosened his grip and everything is clean again. Fresh and potent like the air when you leave a steam room and you realise that you've been choking this whole time.

I'm sunshine and gardens and sweet wine under blanket evenings.
I'm town strolls with sunglasses dipped.
I'm swimming evenings and bikini fits in sunbed afternoons.
I'm dinner dates, Grecian blue, barefooted and salty hair woven into braids.
I'm race for life, lagoon dipping and Lumix camera breaks over coffee.
